ReplyDeleteThanksgiving is a great time of year! My parents have their turkey dinner for us on the Sunday before Thanksgiving....It is so nice, we eat, eat, eat, and the girls do crafts and the boys watch football. Having Turkey Day the Sunday before makes it nice, so on the actual day of Thanksgiving my family and I can eat at my mother in laws house and not have to eat 2 dinners the same night ;)!
ReplyDeleteSeriously....I have the best mom! I actually think her plan is to cook for us on Sunday, so she can rest up on Thursday, for all of the deals on shopping we wake up to on FRIDAY!!!!!! I CAN NOT WAIT!

My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is that we look at all of the ads and plan out our attack for Black Friday shopping. My sisters, mom and I all normally all spend the night together and get up way early. I love being able to spend Thanksgiving day with my family, making a good meal and sharing in having fun.
ReplyDeleteI am thankful that this year we will be able to continue this tradition. Plus we will be having a few extra people join us this year.

I am originally from Mexico so when we moved here over 28 years ago it was a Holliday that we knew nothing about and with all are family back home we didn't go anywhere like our friends did. So we learned more and more about the Holliday threw school and started our on Thanksgiving tradition at home. Now that we are all grown up with our own families we get together and combine both clutters Turkey for Thanksgiving and tamales.

Every year we go to my grandparents house for Thanksgiving dinner. While my Grandmother and my Mom and Aunts are getting everything ready for dinner, us older kids help the smaller kids get out all the dishes and set the table for everyone to eat. We have a huge family, so this is always a lot of fun. After dinner we eat pie and watch football!! I am very thankful for all of my friends and family, I dont know where I would be without all of their love and support. jbtbartholomew@gmail.com

Our tradition is to go to my sisters. Since we lost my dad, my sweet mother can't handle everyone at her house. It just wears her out. So we go to my sister's because she is the oldest. We are blessed to be all together and enjoy a big turkey dinner. Yum... Just thinking about it makes me hungry.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Thanksgiving tradition - Pie! And call me crazy, but I kind of like all the madness that goes into T-Day prep.
ReplyDeletewxmom@hotmail.com
Hello! I love this time of year and especially Thanksgiving. However, I am always saddened by the fact that after Halloween the stores and many radio stations move right to Christmas. So every year my family makes a Thankful tree and we all write down the things that we are thankful for. Then every day we each put on a new leaf until by Thanksgiving the tree is full of thankful leaves. This year we have much to be thankful for and we are making sure that our kids know to be grateful. We also make sure to tell them about the first celebration of Thanksgiving. Hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving, a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year!
