Karen Foster - Kari

This is my own posterboard I made from the Karen Foster Cancer Scrapbooking Kit I brought from Robert's Arts and Craft store.  I just love this kit!! I have already made 5 cards from it and now today's project and I still have tons of stickers and papers...so this goes a long way for the money! :)

I use the printed paper and I just fell in love with all the positive affirmations on it and thought this would make a cool poster board to help someone with positive thinking.  You can read it on the pic...

Here is the recipe:

I used a card board that comes out of those shirt packs that you can buy and I covered that with the pretty green cardstock from a cardstock color pack and then I took a white cardstock and put the printed saying on it then popped dot it to give it dimension and then I embellished around with some stickers that is also a part of this kit...then I used several things of my own...punched out some stars, I-rock the gems and made the small blue flower (brings out the blue saying) and the angel wings I cut from the printed paper also and stickled it and added another sticker to it as well then popped dot it to make it look like it is fluttering...then of course I have to put my favorite thing on which is the butterfly punch I did from pink and glitter pink cardstock...voila! :)

I have to admit I had a lot of fun to think of doing something different to bring out cancer awareness which is dear to my heart...I hope it inspires you today to bring a smile to someone's face! :)

In His Love,
Be Inspired,
Kari

Fall Layout - Zoe

Fall is finally here! This is my favorite season of the year because it's the time for indoor crafting, hot coco, and cozy time while watching a movie.

For this months project I made this 12x12 layout. In this layout I used photos from last years trip to the Zoo.  My kids like the sound of the fallen leaves so I had to take a pictures.

To mimic the leaves in the pictures I used an EK Success "maple leaf" punch. This gives not only a matching, but cute look to the layout. The leaves were  punched out from the paper stack "Cornucopia" by Me&myBigIdeas.

The paper is from Graphic45 " ABC primer" paper collection. You might ask yourself how is it possible to incorporate the abc primer collection in a fall layout? Well, easy! I used the backside of a patterned paper from the collection.  The craft envelope is by Maya Road, and the wooden letters are by 7 gypsies.
I had so much fun making this layout! You should get your kids pictures out and start Scrapbooking!
All products can be found at the Roberts Crafts website. Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers,
Zoe

Halloween Baskets - Barb

Hi! It's Barb from Crafty Girl, here to show you the darling little Halloween treat baskets I made for my daughter's upcoming Halloween party! These are quick and easy to make and are a project that you can complete with your child! I love those kind of projects!

Supplies:
Cardstock of various colors (I used DCWV)
A scoring board
Brads (optional)
Adhesive/Glue
Various embellishments

You will want to start with a square. The square is going to be divided into thirds.  To make the math simple for me, I used 6 inch and 9 inch squares.

Using your scoring board, you are going to score lines dividing the square into thirds. If you started with a 6 inch square, you will score on the 2 inch and 4 inch lines. You then want to rotate your paper 90 degrees and repeat. You will have 9 equal squares when you finish. (If you started with a 9 inch square, score at the 3 inch and 6 mark.)

You will then want to cut on the folds on both sides. Do not cut into the middle section of your square. You can see in the photo exactly where I cut. Fold all the score lines to form your basket.

Once you fold up the basket, you need to secure the sides. There are several ways you can do this. I like to poke a hole in the side and use a brad to secure the layers together. I also used adhesive on a few (like the ghost) where I didn't want a brad showing.

Once the base of the basket is formed, you can embellish them anyway you like! This is the part of the project where you can easily include the kids!

Have fun making these fun treat baskets and Happy Halloween!
